Bedfordshire Invertebrates
Recording

If you have invertebrate records for a group for which we have no relevant pages, then try this article, the Article Archive and our Conference Proceedings for suggestions.

You may also wish to contact, or join, the Bedfordshire Invertebrate Group which has an established format for record submission - see below.

Bedfordshire Invertebrate Group (B.I.G) A BNHS Affiliated Group
B.I.G was launched in 2012 partly in order to facilitate the Neglected Insects in Beds initiative (which aims to encourage greater interest in insect groups previously not well-studied in the County and increase the records of these) but also so that those interested in invertebrates generally can meet up in the field for joint excursions. These excursions are not restricted to looking at neglected groups but include all invertebrates and we don't ignore other things we see either! Since the formation of the group we have held a number of very successful field visits with many new species have been added to the County. Most of these excursions have been on weekdays when we seem to get our best attendances but since 2014 the programme has included some excursions at weekends The number of these will depend on the level of support that they receive.

The meetings are a good opportunity to share knowledge, expertise and we all learn from one another and get the opportunity to see one another's finds. However no specialist expertise is necessary, just an interest in invertebrates, though clearly we greatly appreciate the expertise of many of those who are already members and more specialists would be especially welcome. Do come along and give the group a try.

Please let me know should you be interested in joining the group and I will add you to the mailing list.
